It’s time we have ~the talk~.

#MarathonMonday began with rain and runners had to wait in weather shelters prior to the race. Eight shelters were added along the 26.219 mile route after last year’s conditions that brought temperatures in the low 40s, and caused over two thousand runners to seek medical treatment. Despite this years grim start, the sun was out over Coolidge Corner as a heavy flow of runners passed by.

March 9th, the 17th Saturday in a row that the Gilets Jaunes, or “Yellow Vests,” have taken to the streets of France. These protests began in November in opposition to gas prices being raised, but have turned into an all-out revolt against the French government (President Emmanuel Macron and his policies in particular.) The Gilets Jaunes are promising a "decisive act" this weekend, with three days of protests planned.
I took these photos at l’Arc de Triomphe, showing the remnants of graffiti from a few weeks ago.
